MARTHA'S GIFT>>

I am pretty proud of this gift. I just cut it out
no pattern. It was a little small, so I added a
few pieces sewed together then added it to
make it larger. I added some wooden handles.
I had to reinforced the top, so I used my trusty
crop-a-dial and added a silver chain around the
top added 2 more pockets.. I hope she likes it..

This side I did a big pocket then sewed a place
for her to put a pen, ruler, scissors. I used a
pleather (leather like) material I got from Sandy...

I lined the whole bag with this lovely purple material..

PAGES SEWED

Wohoo sewed up the pages, used new thread and
filled up bobbin and no real problems, this is a
first, LOL..
I sewed felt on 6 of the pages and only sewed the
water color paper on the back sides...
I am putting inspirational sayings, shesh should
have done that before I sewed them...
Oh well it will be a little harder this way,
no easy way for me LOL..

I also started to do hand hand sewing on my paper
quilt a few pics down. I had to but embroidery
needles, its looking good, pics when I'm finished..

PROGRESS

The color was to bright for my project so I
used a wet tea bag and sponged it all over.
I cut up the pieces while it was damp.
The edges were white so I stuck all the edges
in the tea. They look much better now...
More latter...

SMALL SCREEN

In May and Junes Cloth Paper Scissors Mag. Beryl Taylor
Made what she called an accordion style book, its life a folding
screen but small.
I cut up a book and used the first pages of the the chapters.
I used 12 pages and glued a second page to them.
I dyed them and some scrim with tea, I put lemon juice
on the edges then used my heat gun to darken the edges.
I will post more on my progress.
I'm also making a tray for Jan's room she is decorating
in Egyptian style, will post this when done..

for the outside, also the silver is from old purse..
I used a plastic hanger with a swivel hook..

MY VISION BOARD

I'm trying to make some life changes in my life
If any one has seen or read the book THE SECRET
or seen the movie WHAT THE %#*^% ARE WE
DOING HERE will understand what the vision board
is all about.
In order to change your life you have to change you
thinking patterns. So this is what I envision
for my new life.
I always thought of my self as bad luck person.
Well know it only positive thoughts from now on.
Believe me it isn't easy to change a life time
of pattern thinking, but I am very willing to try..

A NEW WORKBOOK for A NEW EARTH

I am participating in the work shop with Oprah and
Eckhart Tolle along with around 2 million other
around the world. It awakening to your purpose.
I have been on a spiritual quest my whole life.
I believe I am finding the answers with this book.
Reading this book, for anyone, can if nothing
else make you a better more aware person of
how we deal with others..
Every week I copy out the questions for the
next chapter and put them in my new binder..
Anyway I took an old kids Poke man binder
and covered it.
I used some cheesecloth and glued rice paper on it.
this gives it the texture ( the one pic is to show that).
I traced a beautiful Celtic design on it.
then colored the whole book with Luster
Rub -ons.
I have to say I love the book and workshop...
I then sprayed it with a clear shellac spray..

I made some cloth with scrim and rice paper.
I painted on top the ones with the silver marks on it.
Some beautiful material I picked up in England (fat quarters)
I use some of my rust for the background and used
paper for the border. I haven't put a rod pocket on it yet..
